Dunbar Magnet School of Creative and Performing Arts

On Saturday, November 22nd, the Evolving Butterflies were fortunate to have Ashley Flores, Director of Communication for the City of Prichard, come out and present on how to conduct yourselves on social media, as well as the many career opportunities available in the social media world. Our young ladies gained so much valuable insight, and we truly appreciate the time and wisdom she shared with us.

Congratulations to both of our basketball teams for their wins against Grand Bay on 11/18/25. The boys won 29 to 25. The girls won 43 to 14. Both teams take on Phillips Prep at Phillips on 11/20/25. Come out and support them if you can!

The Evolving Butterflies had the second Saturday meeting a few weeks back. The topic for this meeting was how to speak on the spot. Participants selected a topic and created a 1-2 minute impromptu speech based around it. This activity helped students to learn to be prepared for situations that they may not be given enough time to prepare for. Always be ready!

Basketball teams win big again! Congratulations to both of our basketball teams for another win. The boys and girls teams played Lott Middle on 11/03 here at Dunbar. Our boys won 39 to 30. Our girls won 47 to 4. Both teams are now 4 and 0 for the season. Up next, both teams will take on Calloway-Smith on 11/13/25 at Calloway-Smith. Come out and support them if you can!
